Not our prettiest performance, but honestly? Away trips to Napoli were never going to be a stroll, and getting out of there with all three points on Matchday 1 is exactly the kind of "job done" result that title-chasing, trophy-hunting sides need to be able to grind out.

If you were shouting at your screen for large parts of this one, you weren't alone. We should have made this comfortable long before the hour mark.
- Merino, Saka, Hincapié, Madueke — take a bow, gentlemen, for combining to turn a routine victory into a nervy one. Saka's horror miss right before half-time, after Ødegaard sliced Napoli's defence apart to tee him up, was the pick of the misses. He somehow put that over the bar from close range.
- Hincapié then somehow stabbed one over the bar from six yards early in the second half after more chaos in the Napoli box.
- We dominated the chances, we just couldn't find the finishing touch.
⚡ The Moment That Mattered: ØDEGAARD
Fifteen minutes from time, our captain decided enough was enough.
Martin Ødegaard, cutting in from the edge of the box, drilled a low left-footed strike that clipped the inside of the post and nestled into the net. Ice cold, exactly when we needed it. That's now a serious run of form from the skipper in this early part of the season — and it's the kind of composure that wins you tournaments like this one.
🛡️ Nerve-Shredding Finish
Napoli threw everyone forward late on and made a double change (Neres and Lucca on) to chase an equaliser. Four extra minutes of stoppage time felt like forty. But we held on. Undefeated start to the season continues.
