Take a breath, Gooners. My heart rate is only just returning to normal after our semi-final. It wasn't pretty, it was nerve-shredding, but we’ve done it. For the first time in a long time, The Arsenal are heading back to Wembley for a major final.
Over 180 minutes of intense London derby football, we showed passion, character, and just enough quality to edge past a stubborn Chelsea side.
Here is how we booked our ticket to Wembley.
🏟️ Leg 1: The Shootout at Stamford Bridge (3-2 Win)
The first leg was pure chaos. We went there to control the game, but it turned into a basketball match.
The Start: We looked lethal going forward. Ben White (attacking down that right flank again) and Viktor Gyökeres gave us the lead, but we couldn't shake them off.
The Garnacho Problem: Alejandro Garnacho was a nuisance all night, scoring twice to keep Chelsea alive every time we thought we had killed the game.
The Winner: It was Martin Zubimendi who proved the difference. His strike gave us that crucial 3-2 advantage to take back to North London. A massive performance from the Spaniard in a hostile atmosphere.
🏠 Leg 2: Havertz Haunts His Exes (1-0 Win)
Last night at the Emirates was a completely different game.
The Vibe: Tense. Cagey. Professional. Arteta clearly instructed the boys to manage the lead, and we did just that.
The Defense: A special mention to the backline. They completely shut down Chelsea's attack. Kepa Arrizabalaga did much better than the 1st leg and made a good save to deny Enzo Fernandez from long-range, but otherwise, he was well-protected.
The Moment: Deep in stoppage time, with Chelsea pushing everyone forward, we broke. Declan Rice played the ball through, and King Kai Havertz was away.
He rounded Robert Sanchez.
He rolled it into the empty net.
The celebration? Ice cold. Pointing to the Arsenal badge.
Final Aggregate Score: Arsenal 4 - 2 Chelsea.
🏆 The Final: Manchester City Awaits
We have cleared the semi-final hurdle, but the final boss awaits.
March 22nd. Wembley Stadium. Arsenal vs Manchester City.
It had to be them, didn't it? They are currently sitting 2nd in the league behind us, and this will be the first major silverware showdown of the season. We know how good they are, but we have beaten them before.
If we bring the chaos of the first leg and the discipline of the second leg, then we have a good chance of winning it on Wembley!!!
COYG!!!
